چکیده

The static and the dynamic spin correlations in the low-temperature collapsed tetragonal and the hightemperature tetragonal phase in CaFe2As2 have been investigated by As75 nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) measurements. Through the temperature (T) dependence of the nuclear spin lattice relaxation rates (1/T1) and the Knight shifts, although stripe-type antiferromagnetic (AFM) spin correlations are realized in the high-temperature tetragonal phase, no trace of the AFM spin correlations can be found in the nonsuperconducting, low-temperature, collapsed tetragonal (cT) phase. Given that there is no magnetic broadening in As75 NMR spectra, together with the Tindependent behavior of magnetic susceptibility χ and the T dependence of 1/T1Tχ, we conclude that Fe spin correlations are completely quenched statically and dynamically in the nonsuperconducting cT phase in CaFe2As2.

Interface-induced superconductivity at ∼25 K at ambient pressure in undoped CaFe2As2 single crystals.

Superconductivity has been reversibly induced/suppressed in undoped CaFe2As2 (Ca122) single crystals through proper thermal treatments, with Tc at ∼25 K at ambient pressure and up to 30 K at 1.7 GPa. We found that Ca122 can be stabilized in two distinct tetragonal (T) phases at room temperature and ambient pressure: PI with a nonmagnetic collapsed tetragonal (cT) phase at low temperature and PI...

First-principles study of CaFe2As2 under pressure

We perform first-principles calculations on CaFe2As2 under hydrostatic pressure. Our total-energy calculations show that though the striped antiferromagnetic (AFM) orthorhombic (OR) phase is favored at P = 0, a nonmagnetic collapsed tetragonal (cT) phase with diminished c parameter is favored for P > 0.36 GPa, in agreement with experiments. Rather than a mechanical instability, this is an entha...

NMR investigation of superconductivity and Antiferromagnetism in CaFe2As2 under pressure.

We report 75As NMR measurements in CaFe2As2, made under applied pressures up to 0.83 GPa produced by a standard clamp pressure cell. Our data reveal phase segregation of paramagnetic and antiferromagnetic (AFM) phases over a range of pressures, with the AFM phase more than 90% dominant at low temperatures. In situ rf susceptibility measurements indicate the presence of superconductivity. 75As s...

Anomalous phonons in CaFe2As2 explored by inelastic neutron scattering

Extensive inelastic neutron scattering measurements of phonons on a single crystal of CaFe2As2 allowed us to establish a fairly complete picture of phonon dispersions in the main symmetry directions. The phonon spectra were also calculated by density functional theory (DFT) in the local density approximation (LDA). There are serious discrepancies between calculations done for the optimized stru...
